We’re super proud to announce this important award for our founder! From the official announcement from the Society of Alberta Occupational Therapists (SAOT):
The Sharon Brintnell Lifetime Achievement Award: Presented to Christine Whitelaw
The Sharon Brintnell Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an occupational therapist who has made significant lifelong contributions to the profession of occupational therapy in Alberta. Since 1987, Christine has delivered OT services to clients of all ages. Christine has educated future OT’s, hosted workshops and collaborated on task forces to improve access to OT services.
For over 10 years, Christine has volunteered with the Second Chance Animal Rescue Society and is currently pursuing a certificate in Animal Assistant Wellness. Other volunteer efforts took Christine abroad to Peru, working with preschoolers, and to Panama, with Floating Doctors. As the owner and operator of her own clinic, Christine offers functional assessments, case management and therapy to various age groups, including children and marginalized populations.
Congratulations, Christine, on your dedication and contributions to the profession!
