On 4 May 2020, the Government of Alberta allowed nonessential health services to resume with restrictions in place. We have since resumed operations, including clinic-based evaluations (FCEs), and to a lesser degree, home based visits.
We are following all restrictions and precautions published by the Government of Alberta as well as the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists. This includes appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), expansion of our already diligent cleaning procedures, and frequent hand washing.
Staff are working from home when possible, and only come into the clinic if they are asymptomatic and have had no contact with others who have COVID-19 symptoms, are awaiting test results, or have tested positive for COVID-19.
Using the COVID-19 Self Assessment Questionnaire, clients are screened by phone when booking, prior to the evaluation, and on the day of evaluation, and temperatures are checked. Only one client is present in the clinic at a time, and PPE is provided for clients.
Please be assured we will continue to do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while providing our usual high level of services to the medical legal community. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
Stay safe and well, Christine
